Little Traditions

Taken last Christmas, these ornaments were given to us by my mother-in-law when Matt and I spent our 1st christmas together at his parents' home in Oregon(This was the 1st time I met anyone in his family). Back at Job Corps, we used to always joke about how his nose twitches like a bunny when you poke it and that my eating habits resembled that of a squirrel(lots of nibbling, and all I ate for months were saltines with honey packets and gold delicious apples lol). We were out at a holiday store by one of Cottage Grove's many covered bridges and these were in the store

The feet and the squirrel's tail have endured slight damage, but they've otherwise held up strong throughout the years... We're always sure to hang these two right by each other and keep them in the same box side-by-side the rest of the year... A silly superstition, maybe, but it makes us smile nonetheless
