The colors on this one are very remnant to the christmas cookie tins we used to get every year when I was a kid... My parents still do lol Growing up we always had a very old European style(Mostly German/Dutch/Swiss) holiday season... My favorite part was my dad's rules... lol


1. No fake trees.
We usually got ours up in the mountains, but there's also a little tree farm a town over ran by a sweet elderly couple that gave little hand made ornament to everyone who purchased a tree. They also had horses I used to spend nearly the entire time feeding.

2. We get the tree no earlier than Dec. 18th and put it up the same day, but we don't decorate it until Christmas Eve-Eve.

3. No commercial/copyrighted ornaments
(One year his exact words were "Christmas shouldn't be JingleBellsAndHoHoHo.com" XD) .

4. Every stocking gets a satsuma orange.
Also there is to be a bowl of them along with the christmas cookies and in-shell nuts(in the 2nd dining room we used to have a table full of these on it all month)

5. We watch Jeremiah Johnson as a family Christmas day
(something I've moved up to thanksgiving this year).

6. He'll take the outdoor lights down when he's good and ready. This has been known to take until June 2 years later.



He always had a sense of humor about it too, we all did. It's the one time of year when nothing gets to him... I always look forward to it... Plus there's nothing better than shopping with him... We always spend the entire time laughing whenever we're out together.
